Push the Catalog

Push the Catalog

Bolt Bridge allows you to push a HubRise catalog into Bolt, either manually or automatically.

Once the integration is live, your menu is managed in HubRise: it can no longer be edited on Bolt.

Populate a HubRise Catalog

Before pushing a catalog into Bolt, you need a populated HubRise catalog. Your EPOS may be able to push its catalog into HubRise. Refer to your EPOS documentation on the HubRise website to verify.

Alternatively, you can populate a HubRise catalog by pulling the menu from an existing Bolt, Deliveroo, Uber Eats, or Wolt store. For more information, refer to these links:

You can also create and edit a catalog with Catalog Manager. For more information on HubRise catalogs, see Catalogs.

Manual Catalog Push

To push your catalog into Bolt, open Bolt Bridge, go to the Actions page, and click Push catalog.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Pushing your catalog to Bolt replaces the existing menu in Bolt.

Automatic Catalog Push

If the Enable automatic catalog push option is selected in the Configuration page, the catalog is automatically pushed to Bolt whenever it is updated in HubRise.

If the Enable automatic inventory push option is selected, the inventory is pushed to Bolt after every catalog push, to hide the products that are unavailable in your HubRise inventory.

Information Sent to Bolt

Bolt Bridge sends the following information to Bolt:

Categories

HubRise categories are mapped to Bolt categories, in a single-level list. If your HubRise catalog uses a two-level category structure, it is flattened by combining the parent and child category names.

Products and Skus

Bolt does not support multiple sizes or variations of the same product. Each HubRise product and sku combination is sent as a distinct item, whose name combines the product and sku names.

For each item, Bolt Bridge sends:

  • The name and description.
  • The ref code of the sku.
  • The price. If a catalog variant is selected in the Configuration page, its price overrides are applied.
  • The attached option lists.
  • The first image of the product, if any.
  • Tags such as spicy, gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, or alcohol, mapped from the HubRise product tags and nutrition information.
  • A deposit fee, for products with a deposit, such as returnable bottles.
  • Time restrictions. Options and deals can also carry time restrictions.

Time restrictions are computed by combining the item's time restrictions in the HubRise catalog with the periods of the special menus that contain the item, configured in the Configuration page. Items available in the default catalog variant are available at all times.

Items outside their time restrictions remain visible on the Bolt menu: they appear greyed out and cannot be ordered.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Special menu variants only control item availability: price overrides are ignored, due to a Bolt limitation.

Options

HubRise option lists are mapped to Bolt option groups, with their minimum and maximum selection constraints.

Deals

HubRise deals are mapped to Bolt items with one option group per deal line.

The price of the item is the minimum price of the deal, calculated from all possible deal line combinations. Each choice in a deal line is priced as the difference from the cheapest choice of the line.

The options of the products included in a deal are dropped, due to a limitation in Bolt's data model: only plain products can be included in a deal.

Images

Product and deal images are sent to Bolt with a public URL. Bolt recommends square images of at least 1200x1200 pixels.

Inventory Sync

When inventory synchronisation is enabled, products that are unavailable in your HubRise inventory are hidden on your Bolt store.

Inventory can be pushed manually from the Actions page, and is pushed automatically when the inventory is updated in HubRise, if the Enable automatic inventory push option is selected in the Configuration page.
